CRITTER CITY BOOK SERIES LAUNCH COMING SUMMER 2026!
I’m super proud and excited about the upcoming launch of the CRITTER CITY series of books published by Sourcebooks!
I CAN'T WAIT!!! But I have to. The Critter City series has been a passion project and I’m delighted that in 2026 it will be hitting bookstores, libraries, and online. Special thanks to my good pal and co-author, the prolific Heather Alexander, our talented artist, Bill Ledger (who brought our world to life spectacularly) and Jenne Abramowitz at Sourcebooks - who said yes!
Here's a bit about my journey so far… I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in New Jersey. Even as a kid, I loved telling stories. I also loved comic book heroes, hip-hop, and trying to make people laugh (which occasionally landed me in detention). After graduating from Emerson College in Boston, I spent a year working at Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Orlando (it was magical and humid) before moving to New York City. There, I made my way through a lot of different (and sometimes weird) jobs in film and TV. But I knew I wanted to be a storyteller, which led me to Los Angeles… where I stumbled into animation, and it was a perfect fit!
Now, more than 20 years later, in addition to being an author, I’m an Emmy-winning animation producer, and I’ve been lucky enough to work on a bajillion episode of TV for kids of all ages. More importantly, I continue to love what I do. Some of the projects I’ve been a part of are Transformers, Paw Patrol, Strawberry Shortcake, Rusty Rivets, Action Pack, Daniel Spellbound, Go, Dog, Go! Magic School Bus, Totally Spies, and many more. I’ve been fortunate to work with companies like Netflix, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Disney, Cartoon Network and had the pleasure of working alongside so many great people from all around the world.
Being a producer and storyteller in animation, and now an author is a total dream job! I believe in the magical power of a good story to inspire young people to do great things. I love that I get to give the gift of laughter to people around the world every day. Whether it’s on the screen or the page, I love building stories that create lasting memories, lift people up, and put good into the world.
The first title is WELCOME TO CRITTER CITY and it is filled with big heart, cute paws, quirky critters, and the adventure of working together to build a community. As our hero Gertie says “Chippity Bip! Everything works if we all work together!”
I continue to enjoy living in Los Angeles and when I’m not at my computer device, you can find me hiking with my dogs, exploring the city, or playing games and sharing a meal with friends.
I have two goofball dogs, two creative sons, and one amazing wife.
- Our family once fostered a mama dog and her nine puppies. Nine is a LOT of puppies! We kept the mama... her name is Izzy.
- My first job after college required dressing like a cowboy at Disney World.
- My two dogs are named Mabel and Izzy.
- My favorite sport is soccer.
Check back for updates. A sneak preview of Welcome to Critter City is coming soon.
